The Mankato Independent Originals has several goals. In order for us to maintain our reputation as the best employer in the area we only hire the most qualified people we can find. We will support their development both inside and outside our organizations. We will talk with them, listen to them, learn from them, pay them and demand excellence from them. We have a waiting list of people who want to join the Mankato Independent Originals. We believe that only happy and professional staff can give the level of personal service we demand. To operate the most successful restaurants in the market, our operations will be fun, exciting and profitable. We will always deliver the absolute best food and beverage along with high professional standards. We will provide outstanding service and unique personal attention that our guests tell stories about. We will develop a loyal repeat customer trade. We will do these by finding out what our guests want and be sure that they are getting it. We will continuously reexamine our operations to stay fresh and responsive to our market while simulating our staff.

The Mankato Independent Originals is not looking for just another applicant. This should give you an idea of what to expect and how to proceed from here:

Be sure to fill out the application completely, even if you enclose a resume. If a question does not apply to you mark it N/A, so we know that you did not avoid the question. Food service is a business of details and we will only consider people who share our concern about the importance of handling all the small details.

We will verify all information you give to us on the application. Any false or misleading statements will disqualify you from consideration, no matter how qualified or talented you may be. Honesty is always the best policy, especially if you want to be part of the Mankato Independent Originals' team.

We may verify your references and also may visit with your supervisors or co-workers about you. If we cannot check your references we cannot consider you for employment. Be sure to include accurate names, addresses and telephone numbers and also let your references know that they may be contacted by us regarding your employment application. It does require a little extra work on your part, but it takes a little extra work to succeed with the Mankato Independent Originals.

In addition, if you are a student, please include the correct telephone number to the registrar's office of your college, university or school district so can verify your education. If we cannot confirm your education we cannot consider you for employment.

Finally, please read the entire application carefully before you sign it. If you have any questions please ask them before you submit your application. We cannot consider unsigned applications.

Please bring the completed application to the Mankato Independent Original you are applying with: DINO'S Pizzeria, The Neighbor's Italian Bistro or Tav on the Ave. Once you have submitted your completed application please follow up with us to review your application.

If an appointment is set up it should only last about 30 minutes. Based on observations and your application, the restaurant will notify you within seven working days of the status of your application with a telephone call. If seven working days has passed and you have not received a telephone call, please contact the specific restaurant you are applying for and ask to speak with management.

If you are someone that is being considered for employment you can expect several interviews with management and/or current employees. "Tests" will be given to allow you to demonstrate your skills to management and to show how you would handle certain situations. We ask you to go to this trouble because the standards of the Mankato Independent Originals are extremely high and we only want the best.
